Get to know Chelsea

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become the person I needed at ages 16-21. I love giving back and helping others, and I found hands on practice in a clinical setting is the best way.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with any client; however, my historical experience has been with children ages 5-17; adults ranging from age 18-plus. I have experience with family's, individuals, and more recently: couples.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

ALL CLIENTS! I am what you call a "Chatty Kathy" and love meeting people and helping all types of persons in their journey!

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

That nothing is an "over night fix". It didn't take one week, one month, maybe even one year for you to feel this way; therefore, be patient with yourself.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I love what this company has to offer for clinicians, especially with the onboarding. This has been an amazing experience and I have heard nothing but amazing things about this company before applying!

What inspires you?

My family and my dogs.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

They can expect me to ask a million and one questions! As well as for the conversation to be natural. I don't like "first session" assessments that feel like an assessment (even if it is, haha!).

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to get to know YOU and why you are seeking therapy services! What can I offer to help you?

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Therapy is a journey-your journey. I am not here to "fix" anything, I am simply a guide to help you along your journey in life, and a support for you during that.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love reading, going out to brunch with my friends, spending time with my pups. I LOVE traveling!

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My dogs, Maverick and Daisy.
