About Ann

Hi, I'm Ann Moore, LPC-MHSP. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. I've been a mental health counselor for 6 years working with children, adolescents, families and adults. I've met clients in person and with Telehealth. My clients have wanted help with anxiety, depression, social anxiety, panic attacks, substance use addictions, traumatic memories, stress, adjustment to life changes, PTSD, eating disorders, grief, impulsivity, anger problems, and other issues. I've helped them grow, by collaborating with them on goals and objectives for addressing their specific needs.

I meet my clients where they are, by using a Person-Centered approach. We work together to find their unique strengths and needs. I use a variety of techniques to help clients gain insight into how they are feeling, thinking and reacting. This understanding helps them confidently navigate circumstances & interpersonal relationships and accept themselves.

Please know that you are not alone. Therapists like myself are eager to help, and come from a background that imparts empathy and understanding. Many symptoms can be reduced or resolved using research based techniques. Everyone, even counselors, benefit from being heard, learning and growing. Let me know if you're ready to take the next step together.

Get to know Ann

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor to promote health and alleviate suffering through encouraging and empowering people to become self aware and confident.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients that want to begin the process, even if it's difficult; and those that need someone to hear their story and walk through it with them.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish clients knew that they can feel free to express their feelings and be honest and transparent with themselves and during therapy. There is no judgment here. It is a safe place to let thoughts and feelings out.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

An intake is the first step and it will include the client expressing concerns and symptoms as well as diagnostic assessments. This allows us to formulate a concept of where we will begin and what the client's strengths and needs are.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I have a trauma informed lens. I have family members on the ASD spectrum. I am a caregiver and parent. I believe in healing and wellness holistically. I believe everyone has intrinsic value and meaning for their lives.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I consider their strengths, level of insight, level of current functioning, level of distress, and the client's level of intent to take action.
