My Name is Lisa Smallwood-Jones and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Addictions Counselor. I am very passionate about offering Evidence Based Counseling and giving my clients the tools needed to accomplish their goals. I work with clients age 12 and up who suffer with Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Stress, Relational, Substance disorders, Transition Adjustment, etc.

My counseling style is empathetic, genuine, and grounded in passion for helping people make meaningful change. I believe clients are the experts on their own experiences. I take a collaborative approach, incorporating Client Centered Therapy, CBT, Trauma Informed CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and techniques from my 20+ years of counseling.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, culturally sensitive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take an active role in their treatment and personal growth.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Rehabilitation is available to all.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

To be heard and to know their Client Rights as well as the Limits of Confidentiality.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My belief that healing begins with connection, trust, and the understanding that every person has the capacity for growth and change.
