About LaTasha
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) with over 7 years of counseling experience, including 5 years providing telehealth services. I work with adolescents and adults navigating grief, anxiety, depression, substance use, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients seek clarity, coping skills, and a safe space to process pain while working toward healing, balance, and renewed purpose.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and collaborative, integrating TF-CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, and play therapy techniques. I help clients build emotional regulation skills, strengthen self-awareness, and develop healthier coping strategies. Clients can expect an affirming, structured, and supportive environment for growth.
Healing takes courage, and you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re navigating loss, stress, or life changes, I offer a supportive and affirming space where you can begin again. If you’re ready to take the next step toward emotional wellness, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

"As someone who has walked through the deep grief of losing my mother, I understand how painful life transitions can reshape us and I believe healing begins when you feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to rebuild. As a woman of color and affirming therapist, I am deeply committed to creating a safe, empowering space where BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals can show up fully, heal authentically, and grow without judgment."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I have always been passionate about helping others feel seen, heard, and supported during difficult seasons of life. After experiencing personal loss and navigating my own healing journey, I developed a deeper understanding of how transformative safe and compassionate support can be. That experience strengthened my commitment to creating spaces where people can process, grow, and rebuild with confidence.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, substance use, and relational stress. I have a strong passion for supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking affirming care. I also work well with clients who are motivated to build coping skills, increase emotional regulation, and better understand themselves in order to create meaningful change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is not linear and that setbacks do not mean failure. Growth often happens in small, quiet shifts before major breakthroughs. Therapy is not about being “fixed,” but about developing tools, insight, and self-compassion so you can navigate life with greater confidence and resilience.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we focus on building comfort and trust. We will explore what brings you to therapy, your goals, and your history at a pace that feels safe. In the early stages, we will collaboratively create a treatment plan, identify strengths, and begin introducing practical tools to support emotional regulation and progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by resilience, cultural awareness, and compassion. As a woman of color and affirming therapist, I deeply value creating inclusive spaces where identity and lived experiences are respected. My personal experiences with grief and growth have strengthened my belief that healing is possible when individuals are supported with empathy, structure, and culturally responsive care.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s background, culture, strengths, and goals. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as TF-CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, and play therapy, depending on the client’s age and needs. Together, we adjust strategies as progress unfolds, ensuring therapy remains collaborative, relevant, and aligned with what feels most supportive for you.
