Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Kim has always worked as a helping professional in a variety of settings and with a variety of individuals. While getting her MSW, she landed in an internship with a community mental health center and never left. She enjoyed the knowledge she was gaining and wanted to put that knowledge into practice to help those struggling with mental health issues.

Seeing patients progress and become enlightened about their mental health.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Patients can expect a warm, supportive, and inviting welcome to share their wants and needs. They will take away a clear understanding of what the next steps will be and how we can work together to achieve their goals.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

Build a clear working relationship along with honest feedback about the issues which brought the patient to Thriveworks.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am honest with patients regarding what I feel we can accomplish and how.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my time off, I like to spend quality time with my family and travel. I am an animal lover and enjoy taking care of my pets. I also enjoy gardening and quilting.
