About Jessica
I am Jessica Hutchison, a licensed professional counselor associate (LPC-A) with almost two years of professional experience. I have worked mainly with children ages 4 to 18, providing family therapy and parenting sessions, though I am trained to work with all ages. My clients have faced ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, substance abuse, ODD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, stress-related disorders, and mood disorders — wanting to manage symptoms, learn to love themselves, become more successful, or simply "not be sad anymore." I want to help all of my clients become the best and happiest versions of themselves.
The main techniques I have used with my clients are play therapy, CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, mindfulness training, psychoeducation, reflective listening, and goal setting. I believe in clear, honest, open communication between therapist and client to help build a healthy and trusting rapport.
Sometimes the world can seem like too much. If you have ever felt struggling, unhappy, or not where you want to be, come talk to someone who has struggled and can teach you how to manage. I will help you discover underlying issues and learn to love yourself again. Please come see me, Jessica Hutchison, your fellow neurodivergent who understands the struggle.

"As one who was diagnosed with ADHD, I have empathetic understanding and patience with the neurodivergent population that I draw from to find the best creative solutions for my clients. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I want to help people learn how to manage their symptoms and find healthy ways to cope to potentially prevent generational trauma/stop cycles of abuse.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Children, teens, young adults ages 4-20.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It's a process, which means it takes time.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Rapport building, getting to know one another, answering any questions they have, establishing trust, learning about them, their issues, and what they want to get from therapy.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 6 years old, I have been a part of the mental health community ever since. I have struggled with PTSD, complex-PTSD, as well as suicidal ideation and selfharm. I lost my grandfather to suicide and depression which made me dedicated my senior research project to suicide and the growing rates in teens. I have passion and am very dedicated to helping those that need and want it.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Every client is different, there's no way to "tailor" it to them before meeting them. I treat every client different based on personality and respect. I ask them about their values, wants, and needs, and then I do what I can to accommodate to those specific needs.
