About Emily
I am a passionate and dedicated mental health professional with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. I hold my LPC in South Carolina. My career journey has led me through a variety of settings, including my practicum and internship experiences at a Crisis Pregnancy Center and Union County Public Schools. My clinical experience began with an Assertive Community Treatment Team. I then transitioned to outpatient therapy services.
The majority of my work focuses on helping individuals cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, and life stressors. I work with clients ranging from 13 years old to adults, utilizing a holistic approach to support their mental health and well-being. I pride myself on creating a safe and compassionate space for people to work through their challenges.
If you're feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to start, you're not alone. You deserve support that feels safe and judgment-free. When you're ready, I'm here. Schedule an appointment and we'll take the next step together—at your pace.
"Having experienced personal trauma myself, I was inspired to help others who may be going through similar challenges. "
Get to know Emily
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have been dealing with depression since my late teens after a traumatic accident took the life of a friend. From dealing with my own struggles, I wanted to be there for others with similar difficulties as well.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Clients that are ready to make some changes in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish every client knew is that healing isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about returning to the parts of you that were never broken. Therapy isn’t a test you pass; it’s a relationship that makes room for your humanity, your pace, and your truth. You’re not behind. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re already on the path.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session will be the intake portion, which will be a lot of information gathering and from there we will develop goals and implement changes from there to reach those goals.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by starting with who you are, not with a preset plan. Every person brings a different history, nervous system, pace, and way of making sense of the world — so the work has to fit you, not the other way around.
