About Blake

I am a licensed professional counselor. I earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Clemson University and a Master's of Education in Counseling and Development at Winthrop University.

My approach to therapy is client-centered and solution-focused. I strongly believe that every mistake, challenge, or failure is just a stepping stone toward success in life. Having compassion and empathy allows me to build a positive and meaningful connection with clients. It is my goal to instill self-compassion and self-awareness in each individual.

I have experience with adolescents and adults of all ages. I have helped clients with anxiety, depression, relationships, academic challenges, parenting, communication, self-image, and emotional abuse. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me via phone or email and I look forward to meeting you if you choose to do so.

Get to know Blake

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

When I was young, I went to therapy a few separate times and had an awesome therapist and over the years, I found that I wanted to be that person for others.

What types of clients do you work best with?

As a young guy, I tend to relate well to other young people, including children and young men, but I am great at working with all types.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Communication is something I discuss with all my clients and a skill I like to build upon with my clients whenever possible.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

I like to ask questions of all types so we will be getting to know each other and building that rapport that is essential to the therapeutic process.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Self esteem is something that I have struggled with so whenever my clients have a problem related to that, I am able to use person experiences as a way to relate and help in each clients healing journey.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

As stated before I like to ask questions and get an idea of the type of client I am working with and adjust my style as I see fit and as the client needs.
