Walka Estevez is a bilingual (Spanish, English) therapist with over 12 years of experience in the field working with adolescents, adults (female, male), providing them individual, family and group therapy. Walka is specializes in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, oppositional and defiant behavior.
Walka completed her Master's degree in family therapy at The Autonoma University of Santo Domingo, in The Dominican Republic. Walka has a dedicated to provide guidance and support to her client through different therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy ( CBT), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and person-centered therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
As a I always liked to work helping others being supportive to them, giving advices, etc. Then, after the time passed by I decided to do it professionally and to work on doing it in an appropriate way.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
The importance of taking care of their mental health for their complete wellness.
What inspires you?
God, my son, my sister.

A non-judgmental therapist that will do the best to facilitate them to work through their process.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I have a large experience working in this field helping clients to change their life and their perspective of themselves.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I go to the gym, like to spend time with my son, and I like to read ( when I have the time).

I am very outgoing, family oriented, friendly.
