About Vincent
I am Vincent L. Carolan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Advanced Addictions Counselor with over 36 years of experience. My background in mental health and substance abuse has allowed me to work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and co-occurring illnesses. I maintain special interest in autism and neurodiverse thought processes, and I am fascinated by working with individuals who are environmentally compromised by personality disorders. There is always a solution if you can see the problem.
I meet clients where they are and initiate therapy with their permission, maintaining dignity and respect in all interactions. I've worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and age ranges. I utilize evidence-based modalities and skills developed through 36 years of direct service.
My promise to you is that you are my priority during our time in session. If research outside of that time is needed, I will spend that time helping you secure the answers and solutions that inspired your path to therapy. I don't know any other way to do this job. Full commitment to you.

"Confusion, fear, anger, hopelessness emerge from the problems you experience. I will help you find your path to clarity, peace, calm, hope, and how to sustain your solutions."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I feel a natural flow when assisting someone who is hurting, and in the problem without seeing a possible solution, find that solution.
What types of clients do you work best with?
All.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It is your job to allow me to help you and it is my job to help you. Very simple.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
To feel that they made the right choice in seeking therapy.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have my own history of most of the problems that my clients present with; and I have found the way to many of the solutions they seek.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I learn about the person, and try to see the world through their eyes by standing in their shoes.
