Get to know Teresa

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I am a humanitarian and this field felt like my natural calling. I excelled in psychology classes in college and I was always fascinated with the connection between the mind, emotions and the bodies physiological reaction to emotional changes. This lead me getting my first masters degree in Guidance & Counseling.

What types of clients do you work with best?

As I have spent most of my career working with young adults, I feel that I work with them best, but I can work with any age group.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Teenagers/young adults

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

You should always aim to be the best version of yourself and sometimes you need help to do this.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

My research about the company seems compatible to me as a professional.

What inspires you?

Growth!

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

A conversation to get to know the client.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

A mutual understanding and acceptance of the clients needs, provided in a warm accepting environment.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am committed to helping them.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Movies and music relax me.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am a kind individual and it resonates with people I meet.
