Rachel Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 13 years of experience who has worked in both the field of addictions and the field of mental health. She treats everyone with respect and sensitivity, working to empower adolescents, adults, and couples to address challenges and live their best life. Rachel specializes in stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, relationships and communication, and self-esteem and motivation.
Rachel has worked directly with clients throughout her life utilizing recreation and the expressive arts. Combined with a degree in counseling, this enables her to take a holistic view when treating her clients. She utilizes client-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I've always enjoyed helping people to change for the better and wanted to learn more and focus on talk therapy

Individuals, both adults and senior adults.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Motivated clients, adults and senior adults.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
We have the ability to change our brains.

It is a good company. I live close.
What inspires you?
Learning newer therapies, like Polyvagal.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
That rapport has been established and their questions satisfied.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Ability to feel comfortable with me and satisfied that their questions were answered as well as to instill hope that they can change.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Go for longer walks, connect with family and friends.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm thoughtful and enjoy learning.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
A client who wanted to change and was able to initiate it through advice and encouragement from me but later developed their own mechanisms to maintain change.
