About Rachel
Rachel Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 14 years in the mental health and addictions field. Rachel works with adults who are seeking help for trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, Women’s issues, and life transitions.
Rachel completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lock Haven University and received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Arcadia University. She has a person-centered and solution-focused approach and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing, among other modalities. She also likes to use art in order to provide a different way of looking at issues than just traditional talk therapy.
Rachel believes that everyone deserves to have time for themselves, be heard, and feel comfortable. She seeks to establish a caring and secure therapeutic environment to allow you to build on your strengths and meet the goals you have in mind and want to set for yourself.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always wanted to help people and found that my friends naturally came to me to talk.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are motivated for change and/or have goals for their sessions.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with everyone, however I really enjoy working with clients who want to learn more about themselves!

You have the strength and ability to make your goal a reality.

I chose to practice at Thriveworks because everyone I work with cares first and foremost about the clients we serve!

What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expects to be greeted warmly and that I will answer any and all questions the best I can!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In a first session, my goal is to get to know each other a bit, identify a primary goal, and provide something that the client can take from the session such as a coping skill, technique, and a sense of hope.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I spend most of my time playing hot wheels with my son! I am also interested in reading, music, crafts, and spending time outdoors.
