What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One crucial message I wish all clients understood is that the progress achieved in therapy is directly proportional to the effort invested. Just as you can’t expect fitness results without setting foot in the gym after purchasing the membership, therapy requires a similar commitment. It involves making deliberate, incremental changes, experimenting with new strategies, and most importantly, openly collaborating to enhance our teamwork.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The initial session often brings forth feelings of apprehension and challenge, especially for those new to therapy or those who have encountered unfavorable experiences previously. From the very first interaction, my priority is to establish a strong therapeutic connection with my clients. During the intake session, I’ll gather essential background information to shape our work and fine-tune my approach. It’s crucial to note that I will never pressure you to discuss anything you aren’t prepared to share, as this wouldn’t serve your best interests or our therapeutic progress.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities such as staying active with Peloton rides, taking leisurely walks with my mini-goldendoodle, experiencing the thrill of amusement parks, and enjoying classic movie nights at the drive-in with my family.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I possess an unwavering drive to glean insights from my surroundings and the individuals I encounter. Each new day presents an opportunity to discover something intriguing and valuable, regardless of its scale. I strive to remain present in the moment and to cherish even the smallest of experiences, recognizing the value they add to my life.
