She views clients holistically, and her integrative approach includes cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, and expressive arts.
Laura appreciates that while life continually happens, it is easy to lose sight of one’s truth amidst the chaos of today’s world. By offering compassion and empathy, Laura listens with care and aims to help clients learn new ways to communicate, cope, and heal through living in alignment with their core values.

"I believe that developing self-awareness is a unique process for every individual and is the key to healing and overcoming life’s challenges."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always been a helper and have long had an interest in the healing arts and the mind-body connection. That said, I could not have decided to return to school to become a counselor a day sooner than I did. It was a natural progression for me and through lived experience that I had the calling to promote positive change through work in the mental health field.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are curious about their potential, and who are up for the challenge of showing up and going through the process of exploring.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are willing to try new, healthy ways to cope.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
New insights and different perspectives are always available, and change is always possible.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work at Thriveworks because of the priority placed on client care as well as the flexibility offered to both clients and therapists.

Finding hidden truths and making connections.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I hope to establish goals with the client by providing a space where they feel safe in sharing what brought them to therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients should know that I will meet them where they’re at in life, with genuine interest and without judgment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to learn and create - my time off is filled with cooking, gardening, music, and all sorts of projects that entail resourceful problem-solving. I also cherish adventures and time spent with family and friends, including the furry and feathered ones.
