About Karina
I am a licensed associate professional counselor (LAPC) with 7 years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, and emotional healing. My background includes work in crisis intervention, community-based services, and outpatient care. I aim to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. My approach integrates person-centered care, cognitive behavioral strategies, trauma-informed practices, and strength-based techniques to help clients build insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate your story, build confidence, and create balance in your life. I am here to help you feel more grounded, supported, and hopeful as you move toward well-being. When you are ready to take the next step, I welcome you to schedule a session and begin this journey at your own pace.

"Drawing on perspectives from marginalized communities and trauma‑informed experiences, I offer an understanding of how trauma shapes people’s lives and relationships."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I enjoy helping people, and I understand the impact trauma can have. I am passionate about supporting individuals in developing healthy coping mechanisms for conflict, relationships, and the influence of family dynamics on their present and future. My goal is to empower people to discover their potential and realize that their past does not have to define them.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients aged 14 to 70 who are seeking a deeper understanding of their thought processes and are willing to do the necessary work to address the root causes of their challenges. I also excel at supporting individuals undergoing life transitions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It's about what happened to you, not what's wrong with you. Many survivors carry profound shame, believing they are broken. Healing isn't about becoming a new person, but about releasing the heavy burden of shame and trauma to finally be themselves again.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the early stages of therapy, clients can expect me to take the time to build rapport, get to know them and their story, and approach all experiences with non-judgment. I strive to establish a connection and create a safe space where clients feel comfortable trusting me with confidential information. I also utilize measurement based care assessments, trauma informed strategies, tailored exercises and "check in" tools that serve as a bridge to help us deepen your understanding of your journey.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Tailoring therapy to meet each client's needs is the most important part of the process. It is important that the therapist gets a feel for the client, understanding what guidance works best, what type of support they need, and how to best approach challenges. I always tell my clients that they are the experts in their lives, and I am here as a sounding board to help them clear the path from obstacles of trauma.
