Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My path to counseling began in an unexpected place — during my early work as a manicurist. I noticed that clients weren’t just coming to me for nail care; they were returning because they felt safe sharing their struggles, hopes, and life stories. Appointment after appointment, people told me I had a natural gift for listening and supporting others, and many encouraged me to pursue psychology. Those conversations awakened something in me. I realized that my lifelong fascination with human behavior — paired with my genuine love for people — pointed toward a deeper calling. That early experience became the spark that led me to pursue advanced training so I could help people navigate challenges, find clarity, and step into their best lives. Today, my greatest joy is walking alongside clients as they grow, heal, and transform. Being part of that journey is an honor I never take for granted.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are navigating life transitions, chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, or complex personal relationship dynamics. I also work well with teens experiencing difficulties with school stress, as well as depression and anxiety struggles. My ideal clients are individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from their goals, but are ready to engage in a collaborative, self-reflective process. Whether you are seeking practical tools to manage daily stress, or deep healing from past experiences, I thrive with clients who value a compassionate, nonjudgemental space and desire to build resilience and long-term personal growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish that all clients new that taking the first step to reach out is often the hardest part, and that seeking support is a powerful act of courage, self-respect, and hope - never a sign of weakness.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
We begin therapy with an intake session, where I gather relevant background information and history to help guide our collaborative treatment planning. Following the intake, our ongoing therapy sessions create a warm, nonjudgemental space focused on your unique goals. In these early stages, we focus on building trust, outlining strength-based goals, and introduce practical tools so you feel grounded, empowered and supported from the very start, at a pace the feels comfortable for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice of therapy is guided by three core personal values: - Empathic Listening: grounded in my early experiences of people trusting me with their stories, I believe true healing begins when feeling genuinely heard. - Collaborative Respect: I view therapy as a partnership, bringing nearly 20 years of expertise to walk alongside you as you discover your own path to wellness. - Practical Empowerment: I value equipping clients with real-world, evidence-based tools that foster resilience, personal clarity, and immediate progress.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by blending insights from your initial assessment with your personal goals to build a collaborative treatment plan that we will use to track your treatment over time. We then choose specific interventions that can help target the unique struggles that brought you in to therapy, and regularly review your plan to ensure we remain focused on what matters most to you. My approach supports therapy across the life span. When you reach your goals and feel ready, we can talk about closing your current therapy episode with the understanding that you are always welcome to return whenever you need support again. This flexibility allows therapy to meet you where you are, at every stage of life.
