Jackie is the absolute best. I've seen 5 therapists before her but she has gotten me to open up more than all of them combined.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I love working with people, hearing about their lives and being able to help them find their way through difficult times. There is so much unease in the world right now, people are struggling with a variety of problems, and I wanted to be a part of the solution.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who want to learn more about themselves, find what makes them happy and are open to the idea of change.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are open to talking and want to learn more about themselves. I do not expect you to be ready to tackle every issue all at once, but if we can create a safe space in our sessions for you to share at your own pace, I consider that an accomplishment!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That therapy is collaborative. I will never judge you or make you feel judged. These are your sessions and I am here as a resource to help you achieve your personal goals.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because I was inspired by how dedicated Thriveworks is to their clients and their employees. Their professional values align with mine as well as their passion about creating a positive impact on the mental health field.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by new ideas, creative outlooks and thinking outside of the box. So often in life we are expected to fit into how others want us to be or how things have been thus far. I believe in creating individualized approaches that are collaborative with my clients to meet their needs.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
My clients can expect someone who is invested in the story of their lives, where they have been and where they want to go. I spend the first session focused on getting to know you as a whole and building on that in our future sessions.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Within the first session my hope is that you feel comfortable, safe and understood. We will start to create goals together but work at your own pace.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
That I am dedicated to helping you find your happiest, most fulfilled self even if at the moment that feels very far away.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love reading, knitting, spending time at the beach and bike riding.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I tend to approach things even in my personal life with a want to understand and a willingness to learn. I love to learn and experience new things.
