Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Providing a safe place for others to feel less alone and heard is what motivated me to become a counselor.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with clients who are curious to learn how counseling can assist them, in hopes that they become empowered to make healthy changes within their lives.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients who are ready to break old, maladaptive habits, so that they can learn how to be kinder to themselves through insight and positive coping skills.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Everyone deserves a nonjudgmental, caring, safe environment, where they can discuss their hopes, fears, and challenges, so they can feel happy and content in their lives.
What inspires you?
Growth. Whether personal or through nature, growth shows the ability to make continuous impacts in life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session can be awkward. However, it is my goal to make clients feel comfortable and less guarded as I learn about the situations that brought them to counseling.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I hope to develop an understanding of the client's expectations and goals, so that we can begin to move forward with a productive collaboration.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love being outside. You can typically find me gardening, hiking, or reading outside when possible.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My humor!
