About Edward
Edward Hardy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 15 years of experience working in the field of mental health and addictions. Ed spent 7 years as a counselor at an Inpatient Christian treatment program in CA, another 6 years counseling at a medically assisted outpatient treatment program, and also counseled for two years at a Women’s inpatient treatment center. Ed is passionate about helping adults and couples address their unique challenges and live more fulfilled lives and specializes in relationship issues, anxiety, chronic stress, and low self-esteem
Ed completed his Master’s in Counseling Psychology at National University and his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University. Ed utilizes multiple treatment approaches including, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and Christian counseling. He is married, has a blended family, a daughter, and two stepdaughters.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
When I was working as a Stock Broker on Wall Street. I realized that I wanted to help people in a more meaningful way. I decided to get a Master's in counseling and made a career change.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adults who feel they are stuck and want a change for the better.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with people who feel like they've hit rock bottom. It is great to help someone break through and to be a part of their recovery.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Love is the most powerful thing a person can use to bring about change. It's important to realized your are loved more than you know. When you embrace the love you have for yourself, you will find the power to change.

What inspires you?
When I was younger I was an ashiest. After having a spiritual awakening, I realized that I had much to learn and much to do.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Our time is very important, during our first session you should expect to see how this process will impact you in a positive way.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The first session we will talk through your needs, goals, what has worked and what has not and develop a plan that works for you.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am very empathetic, non-judgmental, a great listener and very easy to talk too.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to play chess, travel and spend time with family.
