About Dawn
Dawn Grochowiak is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, children & adolescents, and families. There is not a “one size fits all” approach to therapy, so Dawn will spend time understanding her clients’ experiences. Dawn will work to develop a personalized approach to address issues like stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or family and relationship issues. Dawn is passionate about building upon clients’ strengths, instilling hope, and providing a safe, warm, and accepting space to look inside and explore thoughts and feelings.
Dawn received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Dawn began her career in a mental health setting founded on principles of Quaker treatment and grounded in client-centered care. Dawn uses various treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, and mindfulness.
Navigating the ups and downs of life can feel heavy sometimes. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, Dawn is a seasoned clinician, ready to support you and to build the skills necessary to help you achieve your goals.

"As a mother of 3 teenagers, I understand how chaotic life is and how challenging it can be to make time for self-care and prioritize your wellness."

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I am passionate about helping others. I was in the key club, which is a volunteer club that provides community services, as a teenager in high school.
What inspires you?
The human spirit inspires me. Healing and recovery from mental illness happens every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Our first session will focus on getting to know each other and establishing a connection. I will also gather information, like your history, as we talk to complete the initial assessment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to travel both in The United States and overseas. I enjoy immersing myself in other cultures and learning about people. I enjoy taking a mindful walk everyday because I love nature and exercise and believe both of them help tremendously with mental health. Lastly, I enjoy movies and Netflix, too.
