About Dana

I am Dana DeLemos and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and other difficult life experiences. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and strengths-based. I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves and the patterns that may be holding them back while developing practical skills, building confidence, and creating meaningful change in their lives.

I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach, meeting you where you are while helping you identify patterns, build practical coping skills, and develop greater self-awareness. I draw from evidence-based approaches while recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we'll find strategies that fit your needs, experiences, and goals.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, and you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. I strive to meet you with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment as we work toward the changes that matter to you. When you're ready, I invite you to schedule an appointment and take the next step.

Get to know Dana

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a therapist because I've always been drawn to understanding people and their experiences, relationships, and the things that shape who they are. I value being able to provide a space where people feel genuinely heard and supported while helping them recognize their own strengths and ability to change.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who want a space where they can be themselves without feeling judged. I especially enjoy working with people who are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or patterns they're ready to better understand and change. You don't have to know exactly what you need from therapy...we can figure that out together.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish every client knew that healing doesn't always happen in a straight line. Progress can look like setting one boundary, recognizing a pattern you didn't see before, responding differently to something that once overwhelmed you, or simply giving yourself more compassion. Small changes matter, and you don't have to have everything figured out to be making progress.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed collaborative conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Early sessions are about building trust, identifying what feels most important to you, and beginning to develop goals that feel realistic and meaningful.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is strongly guided by compassion, authenticity, resilience, and the belief that people make the most sense when their experiences are understood in context. I value meeting people without judgment and recognizing both the challenges they have faced and the strengths they have developed along the way.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I take time to understand each client's experiences, strengths, preferences, culture, and goals rather than assuming one approach will work for everyone. I draw from difference evidence-based strategies and adjust the pace and focus of therapy based on what is most helpful to you. I also welcome feedback so that therapy remains collaborative and responsive to your needs.
