About Cyana
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 6 years of experience, and I specialize in supporting individuals through challenging emotional periods. I work with clients motivated to foster personal growth and improve their overall well-being through the therapeutic process. I create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions while developing strategies to achieve your goals and experience meaningful change.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah College, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. I use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, and mindfulness strategies to meet each client’s unique needs and promote personal growth.
As an extrovert and lifelong athlete, I value teamwork, collaboration, and building strong relationships to achieve shared goals. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to carry your burdens alone. I invite you to take the next step and schedule a session where we can work together on your journey toward healing and growth.

"Acknowledging the courage it takes to seek assistance, I am prepared to collaborate with you in achieving your therapeutic objectives."
Get to know Cyana
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor after starting in the education program and shortly realizing I did not want to be in a limited setting but still wanted to make an impact in a similar way. I realized in counseling I can help clients find those same light bulb moment.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I thrive when working with clients who can openly and effectively communicate their thoughts and feelings with me as their therapist.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with anyone who is motivated to improve themselves through therapy.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I want all clients to understand that while transformation is achievable, it's a gradual process, not an instant one.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I selected Thriveworks because I am seeking a practice environment that allows me greater autonomy in structuring my schedule, enabling me to provide the most effective care to my clients while also proactively addressing and mitigating the risk of professional burnout.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by Mel Robbins, author of "The 5 Second Rule" and "Let Them Theory". The Let Them Theory has helped me separate what I can and cannot control, empowering me to let go of stressors and celebrate being myself.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a warm, welcoming environment where we connect. I'll introduce myself and my therapeutic approach. We'll explore their reasons for therapy, goals, and expectations. I'll also explain the process, confidentiality, and my role. The goal is a trusting relationship.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the initial session, I aim to establish a comfortable and trusting therapeutic alliance, understanding the client's concerns, goals, and expectations for therapy. We will explore current challenges and identify potential areas for growth. I will also provide information about my therapeutic approach and the counseling process, ensuring the client feels informed and empowered.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling their initial session, prospective clients should be aware that I am a empathetic and understanding listener, and I create a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration. I specialize in evidence-based therapies tailored to each individual's unique needs and preferences. My approach is collaborative, focusing on setting achievable goals together. I encourage open communication and value building a strong therapeutic alliance. I also want to share that I am proficient in cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered and solution focused, which I believe can be particularly helpful for all populations.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my dogs inside or outside. I enjoy going to different seasonal activities with either my spouse or friends.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I remain calm under pressure.
