About Angelo
I am a licensed associate professional counselor (LAPC) with 2 years of experience providing counseling to adults navigating identity, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I value self-exploration, collaboration, and trust in our therapeutic relationship; it is important to me that you feel affirmed and supported. If you are looking for a cheerleader on your path to your best self, that is the space I aim to create with you!
I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Temple University. My work is grounded in a person-centered, gender-affirming, and culturally informed framework. I draw from dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy, to name a few.
Seeking support can feel difficult, but it can also be deeply rewarding. I strive to create a gentle, collaborative environment where you feel heard. Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you, supporting your ability to reconnect with yourself and take an active role in rewriting the story of your life.

"As a gay man who has had unique cultural and identity experiences of my own, I understand the importance of validating and exploring one's experiences with personal context in mind."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My choice to become a counselor was based largely on my own experiences with identity and therapy. My first few sessions working with a LGBTQIA+ therapist allowed me to speak on experiences in a new and affirming way. That connection was profound to me, and I hope to become a resource for others seeking a similar therapeutic connection.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who desire to work on building up their confidence and becoming the best version of themselves. I enjoy working on managing anxiety and depression, while also building up your self-esteem to do so. On a side note, I love working with clients who enjoy incorporating a bit of humor into our work, always in a way that is validating and never minimizing to your experiences.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is nonlinear. There will be good days and bad days, and it's all a part of processing. I'd want clients to know that simply the effort alone to show up is making progress, even if that progress has some bumps in the road.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session is an opportunity for us to connect and outline potential goals. I want to get an idea of you as a whole person - while we will discuss concerns, it is equally an opportunity to forge a genuine, human connection.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I value authenticity and unconditional positive regard. I am someone who strongly values having a sociocultural context in my approach; your experiences in the world matter, and I am interested in unpacking them together.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I value transparency with a person-centered approach. Your feedback and feelings towards work done in sessions matters to me. Keeping communication open can help us work together to tailor therapy in a way that aligns with your goals in a respectful, productive way.
