Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor in 3rd grade when I got introduced to "peer counseling". I knew then that I was an empathic person and had a passion to help others.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are women. I have a passion for helping teenagers and young adults but I work best with women of all ages.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are experiencing therapy for the first time. My goal is to provide them with a great experience leaving them open to counseling in the future as it can be a taboo subject in the community.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being in therapy. In fact, I would say better quality of life could be directly linked to having a good therapist in your life.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because like myself, they value access to therapy.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect our first session to be a feeler session where we are getting to know each other and discuss what the client hopes to achieve during our time together.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session I would like for the client to leave with a sense of confidence in the counseling experience and clarity on their counseling goals for the duration of the counseling experience.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know that I am a passionate about the counseling process and making them as comfortable as possible.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
If I am not traveling in my free time I am somewhere at a concert.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my diplomacy. I have mastered the art of staying true to myself while having the capacity to understand others at the same time.
