About Emily
Emily Heming is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 3 years of experience in the mental health field and 6 years of experience in the behavioral health field. She is passionate about helping adolescents and adults feel empowered and validated. Emily offers counseling to individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, anger, trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions. Her goal is to create a secure, welcoming environment to discuss and reflect on all areas of life.
Emily received her Master of Social Work from Northern Arizona University. She uses a variety of approaches including dialectical behavior therapy, emotionally focused therapy, positive psychology, and family systems. After learning in the first session what led a client to her, she will tailor a plan of care to fit their needs.

I'm excited to speak with all populations.
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by knowledge, I want to ensure I help my client's to understand why their brain is responding the way that it is.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Within your first session, we will discuss what led you to reach out for support. This will allow me to evaluate how I can best assist you. From there, we discuss an overview of your past, present, and future. I would then like to discuss your history, such as your upbringing or trauma exposure. We talk about your day to day, such as your supports, job, and a typical daily schedule. Last, we will identify a goal that you would like to focus on as we move forward.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I enjoy to laugh, and am bubbly and expressive.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Reading, spending time with my husband and children.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm a mom of 3!
