About Deon

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and family and relationship concerns. I work with clients who want a supportive space to manage stress, build confidence, and find greater balance in their lives. My goal is to help you gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and move toward the life you want.

I earned my master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Langston University. In my work, I use a collaborative and personalized approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs. I draw from cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered techniques to support meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you.

I want you to know you are not alone, and therapy can be a place where you feel genuinely heard and understood. I offer a compassionate, supportive environment where we set goals together and work toward them. When you're ready to take the next step, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence and support.

Get to know Deon

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I choose to become a counselor because I've always been passionate about helping people navigate through life challenges and find their own strengths. It's really fulfilling for me to create a space where people feel heard and supported.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with client who want a supportive, non judgmental space to process their experience.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish clients knew that therapy works best when it's a partnership. ,

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, can expect a grounded conversation focused on understanding what brought them in and what they hope to change.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to be understood without judgement. Growing up and throughout my career, I've seen how powerful it is when someone finally feels heard. I value deep listening and genuine understanding.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor my therapy by listening closely, respecting your space, and adapting my approach to what works best for you. I don't believe in a one size fits all model. each client is different. some people want practicle tools and structures, while others need space to process and gain insight, I draw from evidence base method like CBT and person centered therapy
