Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I’ve always been drawn to helping others navigate their challenges and find strength within themselves. I realized that people often carry deep pain that isn’t visible on the surface, and I felt compelled to support them meaningfully.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to make positive changes.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm most excited to work with clients who are ready and willing to work in their therapeutic journey, even if they feel uncertain or vulnerable at first.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Progress often comes with ups and downs, and setbacks don't mean failure-- they're a normal part of growth. Having patience with oneself and trusting the process can be incredibly empowering.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because its values align closely with my approach to therapy, and it offers a supportive work environment.
What inspires you?
Seeing how therapy can positively change my client's lives inspires and motivates me every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I’ll ask for background information to get to know the clients, which might be helpful for understanding their current situation. We'll discuss confidentiality and answer any initial questions. I’ll invite clients to share what brings them to therapy, including any challenges, goals, and hopes for our work together. We will discuss how we can work together to achieve the goals or expectations that they have in mind.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I aim to understand what motivates the client to seek therapy, what they hope to achieve, and any immediate concerns or questions they may have. I want the client to feel heard and valued, knowing that they’re in a space where they can share openly without judgment and build rapport and mutual trust.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I’m empathetic and strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and build resilience. I approach therapy as a compassionate, collaborative process and work in a partnership, working together toward growth and meaningful changes.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying nature, painting, reading books, and watching Netflix.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My curiosity--I'm always eager to learn new things.
