About Marissa
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly nine years of experience providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, peer conflicts, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions who are seeking support, clarity, and practical tools to feel more grounded and confident. Many of the individuals and families I work with want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, build effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
My approach is integrative and personalized, drawing from CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused therapy—tailored to what works best for you. I help clients build practical coping tools, increase self-awareness, and heal from past experiences so they can feel more grounded, confident, and in control.
Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you toward meaningful, lasting change. Therapy with me is about more than symptom relief. It is about reclaiming your voice, reconnecting with your values, and building the life you want. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and empowered.

"I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where I draw on evidence-based, integrative approaches to help you feel truly seen, heal from life’s challenges, and move toward meaningful, lasting change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and supporting them through difficult moments. I found meaningful purpose in helping others better understand their emotions and sense of self-worth, and I’m passionate about creating a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are ready to take an active role in their growth, even if they’re unsure where to begin and who value a collaborative and supportive approach.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that you don’t need to have everything figured out to begin therapy. There’s no onesize-fits-all approach, and while growth takes time, you already have the inner strength to create meaningful change and take that step forward.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
I lead with empathy, a sense of humor, and a genuine belief that connection matters. I create a warm, inviting space where we begin by exploring your story and what has led you to seek support. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable, supportive environment. We’ll discuss the challenges you’re facing, the hopes you hold for yourself, and the changes you’d like to see, while also reviewing practical details like confidentiality, scheduling, and how our sessions will work. This first meeting is a chance for you to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path ahead.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by empathy, authenticity, and a strong belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood, while recognizing their own strength and capacity for growth.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking the time to understand each client’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths, and then adapting my approach using a blend of evidencebased techniques that best fit their needs, pace, and comfort level.
