About Georleena
Georleena Douglas is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with 4+ years of experience practicing with adolescents and adults. Georleena specializes in anxiety, depression, sexual wellness and minor trauma, especially within the black community.
Georleena earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Queens College. She earned her Master's degree in North Carolina State University, where she received her Master's degree. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), and holistic therapy, among other approaches.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a teen, I felt unheard and I decided at 17 years old that I would pursue a career that would allow me to be a sounding board, supporter, and advocate for those who feel unheard also.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with teens and young adults.

Black women/black teens
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy can be fun, all while doing serious work.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?
While it might not seem exciting completing intake forms is generally my top priority during the first session. Through the questionnaire, I have the ability to ask questions and get a good idea of what the client may need and if I am the right therapist to deliver it.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
While I express a strong sense of movement for the black community, I encourage anyone who is experiencing mental destress to seek counseling, as it can make a difference if they are willing to do the work
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to paint, write, watch anime, cook, shop and clean (its therapeutic)
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My sense of humor. I love a good laugh
