Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I realized that from a young age many people were drawn to me and I always felt a need to help. I figured I could learn the skills necessary to be of greater service to other people with due time, effort, and understanding.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
That therapy is not a "fix" but an additional tool and that there is no shame in seeking additional help. If we need professionals to help with our physical wellbeing, logically so this extends to mental as well.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
They allowed me great opportunities to conduct my practice while still collaborating with me to help ensure I am becoming the best counselor I can be.
What inspires you?
Narratives of confidence, heroism, and various forms of strength.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A very calm, conversational atmosphere that is open but also accommodating to try and best meet the clients needs.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to understand why they sought out services and develop a plan of action for the foreseeable future.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Writing, watching and creating nerdy content.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I almost never get bored. There's always something else for me to do.
