About Teneisha
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 28 years of experience supporting individuals and families across North Carolina. I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My work includes providing solution-focused and person-centered therapy designed to build resilience, promote healing, and restore balance. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow.
I earned my Master’s in Psychology: Professional Counseling from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed care, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients.
I believe therapy should be a collaborative journey toward healing and self-discovery. My goal is to help clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop practical coping skills for long-term well-being. Together, we’ll focus on growth, empowerment, and the tools needed to create meaningful change.

"As a self-proclaimed “Steward of the Worker Bee,” I am dedicated to guiding and building healthy professionals by transforming the narrative from “hurt people hurting people” to “healthy people helping others be healthy,” providing a safe space for young adults, families, and couples to explore and manage the effects of trauma through their inherent strengths—encouraging them to “guide IT (whatever IT is) instead of letting IT guide you.”"

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I was always the person to mediate conflicts and offer non-judgmental support to others and even as a child, I stood up for those that couldn't stand up for themselves.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with those that are able to verbalize what's on their mind, even if we have to work through silence in order to connect and build a therapeutic relationship.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is a journey that requires change and one must prepare oneself for the changes that may occur, both positive and negative, at times.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Opportunities to express themselves in a safe, non-judgmental space and share what they desire to share.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I've served a multitude of children, families and professionals for the past 28 years and have provided clinical supervision for over 20 students who have attained full licensure in the state of North Carolina since 2017.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Each client is their own individual and I try to meet the needs as they share concerns individually.
