Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I chose to become a counselor because, given the state of the world, people require human interaction. So that nobody feels alone or isolated during a crisis, traumatic event, or major life transition, it is comforting to have someone to share the experience with.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Life has taught me that people are distinct individuals, and I must meet them where they are. Others will need to adapt to the concept of counseling, while some will readily accept it. In either case, I am willing to have the patience, empathy, time, and courage to assist others in facing life-changing circumstances.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Any client who entrusts me with their mental health excites me because it demonstrates their confidence in my ability to guide them through some of the most difficult times in their lives. I am committed to making the client's counseling experience a positive one while taking pride in the progress they make during our time together.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
The one thing I wish all clients knew is, "Once you've begun the therapeutic process, it's the beginning of something beautiful; you've decided to walk the road to a new you!"
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Counseling at Thrieveworks provides me with the opportunity to support and encourage individuals with unmet needs. Thrieveworks is a great company that is committed to finding the most qualified, skilled, and personable professionals to assist their customers.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by numerous things, including the sound of birds chirping and children playing outside. The ray of sunlight that hits my face at sunrise. When we take the time to appreciate what we can see, hear, and feel, I believe there is something positive in every situation. As a counselor, nothing inspires me more than witnessing a client overcome their greatest fear or confront their darkest secret. A simple "thank you!" means more to me than anyone else could possibly imagine. Simple things are what inspire me.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Your initial session with your therapist will differ from subsequent sessions. During the first session, you and your therapist will get to know each other and determine how to proceed. The nature of future visits will be more therapeutic. In your second session, for instance, you may examine a specific symptom, issue, or past trauma you mentioned in your first session. During the initial session, your therapist may inquire about your symptoms by asking the following questions: Why did you seek therapy? What do you consider to be wrong with your life? Some questions regarding your past, (your childhood, education, relationships (family, romantic, and friends), current living situation, and profession. may be asked. Additionally, you and your therapist will agree on the duration of your treatment, the methods to be employed, and the nuances of patient confidentiality.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During the initial session, rapport is established with the client. It will be a period of getting to know one another and examining the therapeutic expectations and relationship boundaries. What I hope to achieve is a sense of openness, confidentiality, and comfort for the client's care and satisfaction when receiving my services.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should understand that I take the care I provide very seriously. When in a therapeutic relationship, I am committed to providing the best care possible and only want what is best for the client. In addition, I want the client to realize that therapy is a lengthy process and that we will collaborate to achieve the desired outcomes.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I spend my leisure time with my family, reading, cooking, taking long drives through the countryside, and traveling. and composing.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My defining characteristic is my integrity. I strive to incorporate it into every aspect of my life. Without integrity, it is difficult for people to rely on you or believe you can assist them in overcoming life's obstacles.
