About Olasubomi
I am a licensed clinical social worker associate (LCSWA) with 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adults and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use concerns, mood disorders, and major life transitions. I have experience supporting individuals with complex mental health diagnoses and am committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care that meets clients where they are.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky after completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fayetteville State University. My clinical experience includes work in psychosocial rehabilitation and day treatment settings, where I utilized CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, and person-centered approaches.
I believe meaningful change happens through collaboration, trust, and consistency. I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore challenges, build coping skills, and work toward improved mental health and overall well-being. I look forward to supporting you on your journey and invite you to schedule a session with me.

"As a West African immigrant fluent in two cultures, with over 10 years of experience across medical, administrative, and behavioral health roles, I bring a culturally informed and compassionate approach to care that supports and empowers diverse individuals navigating life’s challenges."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My passion for clinical social work developed early in my career while working as a CNA with a teenager who had attempted suicide. Supporting her through talk therapy and compassionate care profoundly shaped my commitment to mental health work. This experience, combined with my dedication to community volunteerism and my exposure to individuals with significant psychosocial needs, further solidified my calling.
I was also fortunate to be trained within a strong psychosocial rehabilitation program and to be raised in a family deeply rooted in service. My father, a Nigerian politician committed to advocacy and public service; my mother, a nurse with over 20 years of experience, including work in the prison system; my brother, a lawyer; and several close relatives who are social workers all influenced my values and career path. Together, these experiences naturally led me to pursue clinical social work, driven by a genuine passion for supporting others throughout their life journeys.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work with diverse populations, including Africans, African Americans, English-speaking Hispanics, foreigners and individuals from multicultural backgrounds. I provide services to teens, young adults, adults, geriatric clients, as well as men and women, offering support to individuals, families, couples (marriage counseling), and groups.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy can be incredibly beneficial to one’s overall well-being, and I strongly advocate for everyone to consider seeing a therapist, especially when facing mental health challenges. Mental health is just as important as physical health and should be taken just as seriously, if not more so, as part of our overall wellness. Finding the right therapist can make a meaningful difference in many areas of life, and I hope clients are aware of this and open to giving therapy a try.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
They should expect a comprehensive CCA assessment if they are a new client, or a session in which they are encouraged to feel safe, comfortable, and free to open up. All information shared during sessions are confidential and will not be discussed outside of therapy unless required in cases of emergency or by necessity.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal experience with therapy as a young teenager and later as a young adult, while navigating mild depression and anxiety, has deeply informed my perspective as a therapist. Additionally, my work as a Mental Health Technician/CNA has significantly shaped my clinical approach and professional values. Finally, being raised in a multicultural home has fostered strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, allowing me to be well informed about and responsive to diverse cultural backgrounds.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
As a well-trained social worker with formal education in both psychology and social work, and internship experience in a highly intensive adult day program for individuals with mental illness, my education and professional background have equipped me to tailor therapeutic approaches to each client’s unique needs. This includes accurately assessing and diagnosing concerns and utilizing evidence-based interventions best suited to each client's needs.
