About Maxine

Maxine is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with five years of experience supporting people through life's challenges. She has worked with clients ages five and up in private practice, schools, and online settings. She helps people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, adjustment disorder, ADHD, grief, and loss.

Her approach is personalized and integrates a range of evidence-based modalities—including client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory, existential therapy, gestalt therapy, and motivational interviewing. She also offers strengths-based Christian counseling.

Reaching out for support takes courage, and Maxine is here to walk alongside you. Together, you'll create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your challenges, build on your strengths, and move toward the life you want.

Get to know Maxine

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a counselor because of a genuine desire to help others develop resilience.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are willing to be vulnerable and explore inner thoughts and emotions in a safe environment, who are actively taking steps to prioritize their mental health, and who are ready to act and make changes.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Therapy takes time and is different for everyone. It works best when you take an active role and stay committed, both during and between sessions. Real change happens when you face challenges, practice new skills, and accept setbacks as a normal part of healing.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, my main goal is to provide safety, build trust, and rapport. We'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. During treatment, we'll look at how particular life experiences affect your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe that creating a non-judgmental space helps people heal and grow. My own experiences overcoming challenges have shaped my commitment to resilience. I focus on building trust by being genuine and always making sure my approach is ethical.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Instead of just looking at a diagnosis, I consider the whole person and their situation.
