Get to know Danielle

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I knew I always wanted to help people from the time I was a child, then after taking a class on mental illnesses in my undergraduate studies, I decided advocating for those who are in pain and reaching out was my calling. During my time as a counselor that has been affirmed. I hope you will take the time to reach out to me when you are ready.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I really enjoy working with adults, but have experience working with children as young as five years old to older adults. I work best with clients who are ready to believe in themselves and I hope those clients know they are not alone.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I get excited when there is a challenge. Maybe a client does not know what they want out of counseling, but when they find it and see their self-worth, it makes my passion of helping others rewarding. I aim to build a healthy rapport with clients so we can use their individual strengths to offset those challenges.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Boundaries are important in the therapeutic process and challenges might arise, but you have someone cheering you on every step of the way. We will have introductions, complete the initial intake, and establish goals so I can get to know you better.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

If you give yourself love, kindness, and compassion that can help start the healing within. Someone cares about you and wants to listen. Therapy is a tool.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My sons, the hope for others, and knowing listening to someone even if it is only for a few minutes can spark a positive change.
