About Garrett
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience providing individual therapy to adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, health-related concerns, and life transitions. Many of the individuals I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and are seeking greater clarity, emotional balance, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of control in their lives. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla University. I use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and solution-focused therapy, to help clients understand patterns, regulate emotions, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Together, we will build a thoughtful and supportive space focused on insight, skill-building, and forward progress, allowing you to move toward greater clarity, balance, and growth one step at a time.

"As a clinician who integrates evidence-based therapy with real-world insight, I help clients translate self-understanding into meaningful action and lasting change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I value helping people navigate difficult experiences and build skills that lead to meaningful, lasting change. Supporting individuals as they gain insight, emotional regulation, and confidence in their lives is what continues to motivate my work.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are ready to engage in a collaborative, goal-oriented therapy process. Clients who appreciate honest feedback, structure, and practical strategies tend to benefit most from my approach.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Feeling uncomfortable or challenged at times in therapy doesn’t mean it isn’t working—it often means meaningful change is happening.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, we’ll focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to change. Early sessions emphasize building rapport, creating a clear plan, and introducing practical tools you can begin using right away.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My work is informed by a belief in resilience, personal accountability, and the importance of understanding how life experiences shape emotional responses. I value honesty, curiosity, and creating a space where people feel respected and empowered.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by collaborating closely with each client to understand their goals, strengths, and challenges. Sessions are adjusted over time using evidence-based approaches that best fit the client’s needs, pace, and preferences.
