Get to know Stephanie

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I'm passionate about helping others heal and grow.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Those who are motivated for change and willing to put in effort.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Clients who have an open mind and are willing to practice skills outside of session. I look forward to hearing about things that worked and/or didn't work so we can find better options.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that personal growth and healing takes time, and they are worthy of that time.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Their core beliefs and values really resonate with me.

What inspires you?

Witnessing a client have an "Aha!" moment in therapy, and being grateful I was able to be present with them in that moment.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Though the first session is spent gathering information and completing appropriate paperwork, I engage in active listening with a focus on creating a comfortable and safe environment in order to do so. Clients can expect follow-up sessions to be focused on building rapport, becoming comfortable with the therapeutic process, and collaboratively identifying goals for treatment.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My goal is for clients to feel safe and heard as we begin to build the therapeutic relationship. I hope to learn about what brings them to therapy and how I can help support them.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am passionate about empowering clients on their journey towards personal growth and healing.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love making new memories with my family, focusing on my physical health journey, tending to my flowers and garden, and feeding backyard songbirds and squirrels.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am an optimistic individual who believes in giving others the benefit of the doubt.
