"Navigating this world can be difficult. Our past pain and trauma can further complicate this journey. I enjoy helping children, adolescents, parents, and adults heal, grow, and learn so they can thrive, not just survive. Humans tend to do what they know until they know more...come learn what more is!"

Get to know Stacey

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My gift is listening to and helping others heal. I enjoy be part of an individual's healing and growth process. It's so rewarding to help someone and see them go from surviving to truly thriving!

What types of clients do you work with best?

I really enjoy8 working with teens during their exploring life journey. They are so open, real, and receptive to change and growth that helps them improve and heal. I also enjoy working with struggling parents and their children. Finally, I enjoy doing therapy with adults and older adults. I enjoy how adults' more complex lives challenge my skills. There can be resistance and added barriers with adults, but once processed through and removed their healing can be life changing.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I'm very excited to work with a variety of clients: teens, parents and their children, adults (young and old).

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

If a client doesn't feel a good connection with a therapist, it's not the therapy process. Keep searching for the right therapist so you can heal. Things get better once we work through the challenges keeping us stuck and just surviving.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I like the addition support it provides me as a clinician. I want to focus on my skills in helping others not all the administrative business tasks.

What inspires you?

I'm inspired by those who have experienced adversity and refuse to that that define who they are.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I hope they feel a connection right away so that the conversation we have feels like they are just talking with a close, trusted friend whose only purpose is to help them to thrive and smile again.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

During the first session (after an intake has been done), I typically explore the presenting problem and just build connection and rapport with the client.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I will always do my best work to meet them where they are and use approaches that work well for them.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love hiking, paddle boarding, yoga, traveling, walking my dog, and spending time with my children.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Strength and Resilience in the face of adversity. (single-mom of two type-1 diabetic children who changed careers mid-life to share her gift with others).

Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?

I have worked with a variety of clients and all their stories are amazing. There was one highly functioning autistic teen who came to me with anxiety and panic with episodes of severe depression. I saw her go from a teen who was isolated and anxious constantly to someone thriving with new friends and planning her future at college!
