About Stacey
Stacey Gray is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has experience in community outpatient mental health, school-based support, and residential treatment centers working with individuals across the life span who are dealing with various mental health concerns that inhibit them from living their lives to the fullest potential. Stacey specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking help with depression, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, co-occurring disorders, and family and relationship stressors.
Stacey graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She believes that the client leads the treatment process and adapts the interventions according to what is most appropriate at the time. She uses a variety of treatment interventions during treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic, mindfulness, behavioral modification techniques, and psychoeducation.
Stacey’s primary focus during the treatment process is to ensure that the client feels that there is hope for change. Regardless of what you have experienced or are currently experiencing there is an opportunity for healing.

"My personal belief is that change is always possible and given the right opportunity there is hope for healing."

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I wanted to help individuals both adults and children learn that they have the opportunity to live a happier life.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work with mostly adolescents and adults who are eager to make long lasting changes to improve their lives.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session with a client is the most important and exciting for me as it is the time that the client is free to share what brings them to counseling as well as the day that begins the therapeutic relationship.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I hope that the first counseling session would be the one where the client feels as though they have been able to identify an area of their life that they want to improve while being able to walk away from session with a plan to begin on the path of health and healing.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
My favorite activities are being outside in nature, going for walks, spending time with my children and dog as well as traveling. I am a Disney girl at heart and believe that Disney World truly does have magic in the air.
