About Provider

About Esweni

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LPC) with 3 years of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and providing a supportive space where healing, growth, and self-discovery can occur. My goal is to help individuals break unhealthy patterns, build resilience, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I earned my master's degree in mental health counseling from Walden University. My approach focuses on developing practical tools and coping skills to improve well-being. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs and experiences.

I strive to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, gain insight, and develop compassion for your journey. Together, we will work toward meaningful change while building the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing and growth, I look forward to supporting you.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Having been diagnosed with a mental Illness at 19 seeing how helpful therapy was. I became a counselor to give to same support I had and the space to do so.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are willing to do the work and put effort in their ability to manage their mental illness. Who are willing to go for the as long as it takes for them to see consistent results.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Therapy can be positive, uncomfortable but rewarding. Mental health is not linear and that is okay. The healing process is just that a process enjoy the process not the destination.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Therapy with me, you can expect someone who listens, provides space, and allows you to be yourself without judgment.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

As a therapist, my experience as Black women with a mental illness, compassion for others and knowing the need for support in the community drives my practice as a therapist.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I get to know my client such as their interest and hobbies and try to be relatable.
