About Rhea
Hi, I'm Rhea Huggins, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I believe meaningful change begins when you feel genuinely seen and understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and authentic. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, stress, and difficult life experiences. Many feel overwhelmed or disconnected and want to understand their emotions better, develop healthier coping strategies, build confidence, and strengthen relationships. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you while building practical skills and fostering meaningful change.
I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. Together, we'll identify unhelpful patterns, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence.
Reaching out for support can feel like one of the hardest steps, and it takes courage to begin. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don't have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to support you on your journey, and I look forward to helping you create meaningful, lasting change when you're ready to take that first step.

"My goal is to offer a genuine, down-to-earth therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself and supported enough to grow. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I know how impactful it can be to have someone who truly listens, understands, and believes in your ability to heal and grow. My own life experiences taught me that even during life's most difficult seasons, meaningful change is possible with the right support.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are open to selfreflection and ready to take an active role in their healing journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that they don't have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support. Therapy is a space to be honest, explore your experiences, and better understand yourself without judgment. Growth doesn't happen overnight, but with patience, openness, and the right support, meaningful change is possible.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we'll begin getting to know each other., discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore your goals for treatment. Early sessions are focused on building a strong therapeutic relationship, understanding your experiences, and identifying areas where you would like support. We'll work together at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to develop tools and strategies to help you move toward meaningful change.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, authenticity, and the belief that every person deserves to feel heard and understood. My own life experiences have shaped my appreciation for the importance of support, connection, and having a safe space to process challenges. I value creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients feel accepted as they are while being encouraged to grow, heal, and recognize their own strengths.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy is most effective when it is personalized to each individual's experiences, needs, and goals. I take time to understand each client's story and work collaboratively to identify approaches and strategies that feel most helpful for them.
