About Lindsay
Lindsay Schiavone is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of experience providing care to adults and seniors with concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. She has worked in settings including inpatient facilities and outpatient therapy. Lindsay has worked with people with disabilities and has researched the importance of resources for groups such as young adults, women, and LGBTQ+ members. She believes in the innate power of her clients and uses a person-centered approach to highlight inner strengths. Compassionate and affirming, Liindsay ensures she meets clients where they are without judgment.
Lindsay received her Master of Social Work from Boston University. She utilizes modalities specifically tailored to client needs including motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a therapist because I wanted to provide a safe space and offer support. I want to contribute to ending the stigma of mental health by being part of the solution.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help, especially in hard times, but once you have completed the intake or even scheduled that first appointment, you have already taken that first step and you should be proud of yourself.

What inspires you?
What inspires me is the ability to help others and knowing the importance of quality care. I am amazed by the emotional strength of individuals and their ability to grow and to be a support as they navigate the journey is truly inspiring.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, one can expect to have a conversation that gives some background as well as get to know the therapist they are working with.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I hope to accomplish an understanding for who the client is, some general background, and the client's perspective of current concerns. The beginning is all about gaining mutual trust and developing a therapeutic relationship.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am a client-centered therapist, meaning I like to meet my clients where they are at; I use a collaborative approach to work with my clients. I aim to guide clients and help them discover possible solutions.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy going to concerts as well as spending time in nature.
