About Provider

About Kimberly

I am a Mental Health Counselor seeking licensure with 1 year of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and relationship or parenting challenges. I specialize in strengths-based therapy to help enhance self-esteem, explore personal values, and promote emotional healing. My goal is to help clients recognize triggers, develop healthy coping skills, and improve overall functioning.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University. I use the Gottman Method, dialectical behavior therapy, and emotionally focused therapy to support emotional healing, improve communication, and foster meaningful connections.

I offer a warm, judgment-free space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I understand how overwhelming it can be to seek help and invite those facing personal or relationship challenges to take the first step toward growth, healing, and connection.

Get to know Kimberly

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

As a lifelong learner, always seeking knowledge and ways to challenge myself, becoming a counselor after many years of owning a business specializing in mind/body work and wellness just felt right. I’m passionate about helping others physically and mentally through self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who want to be in therapy, are looking to gain insight, take an active role in their goal setting, and are open to change.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients experiencing life transitions.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that they do not have to be alone in facing their challenges.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose Thriveworks because of its reputable online platform which will allow me to provide telehealth to clients in the environment where they are often most comfortable - their home. I will be able to work with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of needs and utilize various approaches to best fit each client.

What inspires you?

I am most inspired by human resiliency.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect to feel safe and be seen and heard in their first session which will move at a pace with which they are comfortable.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

In the first session, I hope to create a safe space for my client to start to share their thoughts and feelings and collaboratively participate in goal setting.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Clients should know that I take an integrative, strengths-based, holistic, and compassionate approach.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Time off is all about spending time with family, traveling, enjoying walks in nature, and practicing Pilates.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
