I’m Khatereh, and I hold a master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I work with adolescents and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals from marginalized communities who may be navigating questions of identity, belonging, or feeling misunderstood. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, build confidence, and find ways to navigate life’s challenges while staying true to who they are.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, to support clients navigating emotional challenges and tools for growth. I’m particularly passionate about trauma work, identity development, and marginalized communities.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges on your own or have all the answers before seeking support. Wherever you are in your journey, there is room for growth, healing, and new possibilities. If you feel ready to take that step, I’d be happy to work alongside you as you discover what healing and growth can look like for you.

"I believe every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and accepted for who they are, and I strive to create a space where you can explore your story, embrace your strengths, and grow into the person you want to be."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Growing up as part of a minority group, I witnessed the hardships and suppression that underrepresented communities often experience. As someone who never quite fit into the box society prescribed, I developed a deep appreciation for individuality and the importance of having your voice heard. Over time, this grew into a passion for supporting people from marginalized communities, helping them navigate difficult circumstances, recognize their strengths, and find ways to thrive even in the face of adversity.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with clients who are curious about themselves and open to exploring their experiences, even when change feels difficult or uncertain.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Every individual’s experiences, emotions, and struggles make sense within the context of their life. Therapy is a space where we can explore them together, at your own pace and without judgment. There’s no single right way to heal, and your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
A strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of therapy. In our early sessions, I focus on building that relationship and getting to know each client through their unique stories, experiences, and perspectives.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
believe therapy should be as unique as the person sitting across from me. I take time to get to know each client, understand their experiences, and learn what feels most helpful to them. Together, we find an approach that aligns with their needs, strengths, and goals, while remaining flexible as they grow and change.
