About Kelsey
Kelsey Quinn is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been working in the mental health field for 10 years collaborating with a diverse population of adults needing psychotherapeutic counseling and support. Kelsey has provided clinical assessments and therapeutic care to adults seeking assistance with depression/anxiety, substance use disorders, major mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, life transitions, and LGBTQIA difficulties.
Kelsey completed her bachelor’s degree in Counseling with a minor in Psychology and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University. She utilizes collaborative, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, solution focused, and emotionally focused approaches to therapy while always striving for individualized care in order to meet the needs for each specific and unique individual.
Kelsey seeks to establish a warm caring relationship with you in order to assist in building your strengths, innate talents, learned skills, passions, and interests while assisting you in meeting your goals to build a more meaningful life that you value and desire. Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor due to my own life struggles that I have gone through and my desire to assist others through their own struggles and realize their own capacity for greatness.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adults struggling with a multitude of different issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Everyone who is interested in coming to therapy.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
People go to therapy to deal with people who don't go to therapy.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
The flexibility of my schedule and the company culture.

My clients and my dog.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Easy-going introductory session - with some appropriate humor and lighthearted conversation to better understand the client and their needs.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Gain an understanding of what the client is seeking in their treatment as well as the best type of therapy and/or therapist for them.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Hang out with my dog, a lot. She's amazing and highly energetic so she takes up a lot of my time.
