About Judenie
Judenie Dabel is a recent graduate student seeking her LMHC with unique experience and background. She is a Haitian-American born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Her clinical training started on a Domestic Violence team for an outpatient non-profit. She continued her training at a Black and woman-founded telehealth counseling clinic. She has worked with clients from the ages of 18 to 40. Judenie enjoys working with teens transitioning to college, young adults, and adults. She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and other related challenges.
Judenie completed her master of arts in mental health and wellness counseling from NYU last year. Her passion for youth and community advocacy led her to pursue a career in counseling. She uses strength-based, narrative, person-centered, and mindfulness approaches to help her clients feel heard and seen as she teaches them to advocate for themselves.
Life can be hard. One way to address some of your hardships is by asking for support. Seeking support is the first step and you should be proud of yourself for doing so. Judenie hopes to collaborate with you to find ways to address your challenges. You are full of lived experiences and potential that will lead you on your journey to healing.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because people should have a space to be heard, express themselves, and learn techniques to improve their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with clients who are committed to their care and open-minded.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with clients willing to use new tools along with their strengths to how and address their concerns.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish clients knew that therapy is a place where they can grow and make mistakes.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because here I can use my skills and experiences to support many clients.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by social justice, art, community and my culture.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a conversation about where they are now in their lives and what they want out of the therapeutic relationship.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want an individual to feel comfortable and encouraged to speak about how they are feeling.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients should know that I am open-minded and that therapy is collaboration between the client and clinician.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun I read, visit museums, and travel.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My appreciation for art and music defines me.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I had a client struggling with anxiety at work and we worked on finding the source of the anxiety. I asked the client what was something that they could do that was on their control. The client was able to ask for more support from her work team and changing her routine which included self-care daily.
