Get to know Evan

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I enjoy helping people overcome challenges and find ways to engage in meaningful activities and relationships. Being a part of people's journey towards their goals is an incredible experience.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

You have more skills and strengths than you realize. Sometimes we are doing something that we just don't have the name for yet. Whether it is insight or a coping skill, people often have a strength that therapy can help them identify, develop, and utilize with greater confidence.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by learning about the creative ways people find gratitude in their own lives. Gratitude offers us perspective. I believe that we learn something every day, and that when we share our experiences we can lift and encourage those around us.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy running, playing basketball, hiking with my dog Evie, kayaking, playing the guitar, and trivia games.
