Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist because I know what it means to carry invisible wounds and still try to show up in the world every day. As a USAF Veteran, I’ve seen how trauma, stress, and emotional pain can quietly affect every area of life, especially when we’re expected to be strong and keep moving forward. Those experiences gave me a deep empathy for others and a drive to offer the kind of support I wish more people had access to.
Becoming a psychotherapist felt like a natural extension of my desire to serve, connect, and help people heal in a way that honors their whole story. I’m especially passionate about trauma-informed care because it recognizes not just what’s wrong, but what’s happened—and more importantly, what’s possible moving forward. I believe in creating a space where people feel safe, heard, and empowered to take their next steps, whatever those may be.
This work isn’t just my career—it’s my calling. And it’s an honor to walk alongside clients on their path toward healing and self-discovery.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are ready to engage in a healing process, even if they’re not quite sure what that looks like yet. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, or self-esteem issues, and they often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves, their relationships, or their goals.
I especially connect with adolescents, adults, couples, and fellow veterans who are open to a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. Whether someone is coping with life transitions, unresolved trauma, relationship challenges, or chronic stress, I provide a space that’s grounded in empathy, structure, and real conversation.
Clients who tend to get the most out of working with me are those who value a mix of evidence-based strategies and holistic tools—like EFT tapping, CBT, and motivational interviewing—but also want to feel genuinely seen and supported in their experiences.
I’m not here to “fix” anyone. I’m here to walk beside people as they explore what healing means to them, and to support them in building the insight, skills, and confidence to move forward in their lives.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are ready to show up for themselves—even if they’re unsure of how to start. I’m especially passionate about working with adolescents, adults, couples, and veterans who are navigating life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or relationship challenges.
There’s something powerful about sitting with someone who feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck—and watching them begin to rediscover their strength, voice, and direction. I love working with people who are open to trying new tools, like EFT tapping or mindfulness-based techniques, alongside evidence-based practices like CBT and motivational interviewing.
I’m particularly energized by clients who are ready to dig deeper, challenge old narratives, and build a healthier relationship with themselves. Whether they’re exploring healing from trauma, working on emotional regulation, or learning to communicate more authentically in their relationships, I’m here for the journey—and honored to be part of it.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is rarely a straight line—and that’s okay. It’s normal to have ups and downs, moments of progress alongside setbacks, and times when things feel unclear or even harder. Therapy isn’t about perfection or quick fixes; it’s about showing up for yourself consistently, being patient, and trusting the process—even when it feels messy.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because they share my commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care in a supportive and accessible environment. Thriveworks offers a collaborative culture that values ongoing professional growth, which is important to me as I continue to deepen my skills in trauma-informed and holistic approaches.
I appreciate how Thriveworks emphasizes flexibility and responsiveness to client needs, making it easier for people from all walks of life—including veterans, adolescents, and adults—to access quality mental health care. Being part of a team that prioritizes both client wellness and therapist support allows me to focus on what matters most: helping clients feel heard, empowered, and truly supported on their healing journey.
What inspires you?
What inspires me most is witnessing the resilience and courage people show in the face of adversity. Whether it’s a veteran confronting past trauma, a teenager finding their voice, or a couple working through deep challenges, I am continually moved by the strength that exists within each person.
I’m inspired by the human capacity for growth and healing—even when the journey is difficult or uncertain. Being part of someone’s transformation, no matter how small the step, reminds me why this work matters. It fuels my commitment to provide a compassionate, trauma-informed space where people feel safe to explore, heal, and reclaim their lives.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In your first session with me, we’ll start by getting to know each other and creating a safe, comfortable space where you can share what’s on your mind. I’ll ask questions to understand your background, current challenges, and what you hope to get from therapy.
There’s no pressure to have all the answers right away—this session is about building trust and figuring out how we can best work together. I’ll also explain my approach and answer any questions you have. By the end, we’ll have a clearer sense of your goals and a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels right for you.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I want to understand what brought you to therapy, learn about your strengths and challenges, and hear what you hope to achieve. Together, we’ll begin to build trust and lay the groundwork for a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a session with me, it’s important to know that I’m a trauma-informed therapist and USAF Veteran who values compassion, respect, and creating a safe space for every client. I use a blend of evidence-based and holistic approaches tailored to each person’s unique needs.
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where your voice matters, and I’m here to support you without judgment. If you’re looking for a therapist who listens deeply and offers practical tools alongside empathy, I’d be honored to work with you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my time off, I love walking in nature and reading by the ocean. Mindfulness practices like meditation and EFT tapping aren’t just tools I use with clients; they’re also part of my own self-care routine.
I’m passionate about holistic wellness, so I often explore different ways to nurture mind, body, and spirit, like yoga or journaling. Connecting with friends and family is really important to me, too—I find that meaningful relationships are a source of joy and support.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that really defines me outside of my work is my resilience. Life has thrown its share of challenges my way, and I’ve learned to adapt, grow, and keep moving forward no matter what. That strength and determination shape who I am every day.
