Hi, I’m Emma, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), and I often think of myself as a communication specialist. How do we get people to understand us? What are we actually trying to say? Why do the same things keep happening in our relationships—and how can we change them? I work with clients ages 13 and up, including adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Therapy can be a space to lay it all out, make sense of what’s happening, and build a plan for the person and life you want.
My background in Boston-area schools and working closely with families has shaped my trauma-informed, strengths-based, and systems-aware approach. I draw from CBT, DBT skills, and motivational interviewing, and I enjoy helping clients build practical skills for emotional regulation, communication, ADHD and executive functioning, and everyday life.
Humor, curiosity, and joy have a place in therapy, too. My goal is to create a space where you can be fully yourself while building the self-awareness and confidence to move forward.

"Each individual has their own journey- where they come from, and where they go. Owning and directing your own journey is hard, but it can also be a joyful experience and exceptionally rewarding."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I love hearing individual's stories and supporting them on to write the next chapter how they themselves want it to be written.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are reaching for something- motivated, committed, and open to the change they want to create.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that they are in control of the process. This is YOUR hour, and YOUR journey.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Expect a real conversation, mixed in with some Q&A. I'll ask about what's brought you to therapy right now, what's felt hard, and what you're hoping to feel differently about. Where do you want to go from here? There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you come. You just have to show up!
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor every session to where you are that week. Some sessions are about building skills. Some are about sitting with something hard. Some times it's playing Uno and planning a conversation with someone close to you. No matter what, you'll never feel like you're running through a script with me.
